Useful Websites

Working in a school library, we are surrounded by many websites. Here is a list of websites that I have found helpful/useful over the years. I will keep this list updated as new websites are established.

  • Common Sense Media Provides independent reviews, age ratings, and other information about all media types.

  • School Library Journal The world's largest reviewer of books, multimedia, and technology for children and teens.

  • American Library Association Non-profit organization based in the United States that promotes libraries and library education internationally. It is the oldest and largest library organization in the world.
  • Smore A beautiful and easy way to make newsletters, flyers, etc.. and publish online.

  • Canva A design program that allows you to make designs for print or web.
  • Kahoot A way to connect in real-time and captivate learners. Kahoot allows you to create a social, fun and game-based learning space.

  • Read Write Think Provides access to the highest quality practices and resources in reading and language arts instruction.

  • GoodReads Lets users track and rate books and network with other readers.

  • Symbaloo A free social bookmarking service in the cloud.

  • Elementary Library Routines This is a wikispace that provides general library curriculum, collaborative lessons, book reviews, information literacy and so on.
  • My Storybook A great website that allows you to make your own children's storybooks online for FREE. You can also purchase a pdf version of your book for $5, that you will have unlimited access to. It is so worth it!
